Join Fishing's Future Master Angler Frank Audano, Jr. for a fun Family Fishing angling experience at Cedar Lake in Olathe, KS. This will be an FREE educational fishing experience where families come together and learn about tying a fishing knot's, fishing baits, fishing lures, rods & reels, casting a pole, outdoors stewardship, fishing ethics, and fishing rules/fishing regulations. Students will spend some time practicing casting with "Back Yard Bass" before trying their luck trying to catch fish off the banks of Cedar Lake. Families must register as slots are limited, but equipment will be provided to Students. If you have your own equipment you may bring and fish with it. We recommend that families bring water, sun screen, insect repellant, and chairs to sit for the awards ceremonies. Each Jr. Angler (Ages 12 - 17), will be presented with a Fishing's Future Jr. Angler Certificate.
We will be located on the South side of the lake off 159th Street and Lone Elm, down the access road and to the right. Look for the Fishing's Future feather banner. Check back here for last minute updates.
This class is FREE but we ask that you consider bringing a canned food item(s) that we can donate to the local food pantry.
A hotdog lunch will be provided with a bottle of water for Students. Please no alcohol in or around the area while teaching this class.
This event falls on the FREE OPEN FISHING weekend by Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, so no incense is needed and no other permits are required.
