Michael Carter is the Accountant for the Point Isabel Independent School District. He is in charge of overseeing the School District’s $45 Million budget and all accounting and reporting. This includes working directly with State and Federal Agencies that require rigorous reporting and accountability. Carter works closely with the Auditing firm that performs the audit of the required Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Michael is also CFO of Dylan Corporation, a Family business that owns Funeral Homes, and has revenues that exceed $1 million.
Prior to Working at the School District, Michael was the lead Auditor at Patillo, Brown, And Hill, CPA’s. He was in charge of Auditing Not for Profit entities, as well as Cities, Counties, School Districts, and Corporations.
In 2007 Michael received his Masters in Business Administration and volunteers as the Financial Director for the Salvation Army Port Isabel Unit.
