Phil Taunton

Phil is actively involved in getting kids and families outdoors to help combat “nature deficit disorder” through a number of volunteer and conservation organization programs.  He is currently involved in “No Child Left Inside” initiatives and last March was recognized as the National Wildlife Federation’s, 2013 “Volunteer of the Year.”

Phil is a free-lance outdoor adventure writer and host of a weekly radio show called “What’s in Outdoors”.

Phil co-authored an Emporia State University, Kansas School Naturalist publication titled “Last Child on the Prairie”.

Appreciation, history, preservation and education concerning Kansas’ secret treasures, the Flint Hills prairie is one of his passions.

Phil cherished the relationship he had with his father and has passed his father's love of the outdoors to his own family.

Phil's love of the outdoors, his appreciation of wildlife and sharing this passion with others keeps him happy, happy, happy!

Pass it on!
